Camden R.S.L Sub Branch

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.       Lest We Forget

HARS Visit.
Members of the Sub Branch, war widows and three members of the Air Cadets travelled to Albion Rail for a visit to the HARS (Historic Aircraft Restoration Society) at Albion Rail.

We were warmly received on our arrival by the volunteer staff where we were treated to a great morning tea in the appropriately named Café Connie.

For ease of the tour we were separated into two groups and were conducted through what is an active working aircraft work shop. The number of operational aircraft is truly a credit to all at HARS.

The array of aircraft on display at HARS is nothing short of amazing and the knowledge of the volunteers is equally amazing as they gain their knowledge through OJT.

Aircraft on display range from a 108 Messerschmitt to the last operational F-111 that originally served in Vietnam with the USAF before coming into the RAAF inventory.

It was amazing just how quickly our time passed but we all left with a greater knowledge and understanding of what can be achieved by volunteers and what a legacy of aircraft that has now been left to all Australians.

Thank you to our President Iain Richard-Evan for organising what was a great day and one that we all enjoyed.
